It was windy all day, not surprising since it was winter in Iceland, but shortly after we arrive at this place, the wind died down. So much, that the water surface looked like mirror. This is probably once in a life time phenomenon .
One from this evening around my local area... he was on scent trail, this was right after he sniffed the ground. Of course he had to stand in the only shady spot within 100ft of him... lol. I did what I could to bring him out of the shadows.

I spend quite a bit of time hiking in that area and I'm familiar with the villages of Serra do Açor and Estrela. Foz de Egua is such a cool spot, I always go there a couple of times every year usually in the Springtime when it's less busy. I really like the images with the fog, really adds a sense of mystery to the photos.

Moving from the suburbs to the mountains has been such a new experience.

The rustling of the leaves on the forest floor taught me to look quickly for what moves beneath the leaves

A few coyote images to share. I ran across a group of three while visiting Bosque del Apache south of Socorro New Mexico. It's been 16 years since I've been able to capture a decent shot of a coyote, it was fun seeing these three. The running shot, the young coyote stayed on the road and trotted past me, so close I couldn't focus anymore. Good times.
A few pages back I posted an image of novice monks on their way back to the monastery. They brought back alms, consisting of mostly ready to eat food donated by nearby folks in the market. The food is shared among them in the eating hall. I saw a few hundreds novice monks there in 3-4 eating halls. They sat in a group of 4-8 on the floor and enjoyed their meal. BTW, they eat only once a day, at around 11:00AM. For the rest of the day, they just drink water. By the look at it, they seem healthy and thriving.
Although it appears offensive to us but they really don’t mind people taking pictures of them while having their meal. The vast majority of the photographers there used DSLRs. And the Sony mirrorless was a novelty in 2014. But I was able to take images that most couldn’t do, and that from a higher point over the eating “table”, attributed to the flip screen, like in the 3rd image.
