Why is this not in the Sony section?
It is but for some unexplained reasons it is also cross posted in the Leica forum. Maybe, only maybe when the thread was originally started, it was posted in the Alternative Gear forum; since the Sony forum was not in existence yet. So when more forums were created, in addition to Canon and Nikon, this thread was put under the Leica and Alternative Gear. The same goes for Fuji X image thread and may be a few other. They are cross-posted in the respective brand forum though after their own forums were initiated..
That's it. Sony was a big "alt" platform back when they released their first FF mirrorless camera. Even if the Sony forum had existed (not 100% sure), many "alt" shooters were adapting onto Sony FF mirrorless (including myself). The "alt" forum was later renamed to Leica and alternative.

Haven't had the chance to take the new 12-24GM out for landscapes yet. Sparky gets to be the star.
Oh, boy, look at Sparky’s long front legs in the last image! Excellent captures, Eric! Being an UWA lens, the GM 12-24 renders the bokeh quite nicely. Enjoy your new toy, buddy!
