Trying the Color-Skopar 35/2.8 in the heights above Jöhlingen, Germany. The lens is very very small, but shows some pronounced field curvature in the Sony camera. Stay all well!
Saw the F-35B for the first time yesterday, finally! At 840mm, most of these shots needed no or very little cropping, the haze over the ocean was tough though. The pilot hovered over the water for a few minutes and turned the jet 360 degrees a couple times, quite a sight to see, and the engine noise when the nozzle was pointing down towards the water was something else.

Great series. I'd like to see one of these
Thank you! I have seen the F-35A and F-35C quite a few times. But the B is something else when it hovers. I have seen the Harrier before too so this wasn't entirely new to me. Really cool to watch it in person and hear the jet noise. The B variant only performs at 4 show this year, I was glad I saw it even though I had to drive 500 miles (round trip) and paid $100 in tolls.
More from yesterday. The lighting was very challenging sometimes.

Certainly one of the noisiest jets I have ever heard in an air show. I think they have somewhat overstretched the engine which results in maintenance issues. The price to pay for a single engine heavy jet. The one engine design has been dictated by the "B" version you have shot to link the engine with the fan behind the cockpit for vertical take-offs and landings. Amazing engineering but not without problems.
