Hi All - I've been watching this thread for sometime, and the quality of the images is extraordinary. I've just been commenting or asking a question from time to time, as I'm a long time OM-D user. I've been undecided about stepping up to an A7R for some time, but yesterday finally got my hands on one to try with several manual focus primes I have, mostly FD but also a Nikkor 35 PC and CV Apo Lanthar 180- see below taken with an FD 35 f/2.
Overall, results certainly confirmed for me the gains that are on offer. My only quandary is A7 vs A7R? I mostly shoot deliberate landscapes, often on a tripod, but also do some macro, where the electronic first curtain of the A7 might come in handy? To help me through this dilemma, I wondered if anyone could point me to an A7 full frame raw image, preferably a landscape shot, taken on a tripod and using an FD 50 1/4 at around f/8 - I'm interested to see what the detail difference is between the A7 and the A7R given their difference in pixels and AA-filter.
And I would welcome any experience-based comments on the value of electronic first curtain for closeup with flash.
Here's one from yesterday shot in the gardens here in Hamilton (NZ) - just discovered I need to join to post in directly.
