But I might jump on a trip to the westfjords on Iceland with more variety motive, maybe more bird life, maybe puffins and also arctic foxes but also landscapes
The trip is in the planning stage and should be in the summer of 2024 ( Long time )
Let's see how much it costs also

I think the images are compatible in quality, within the individual parameter I used to PP. The ZE lens is quite a bit brighter -- at least 0.5 stop per the graduations from wide open to at least f/8. So slightly different PP was used on the images from the two lenses (I seriously doubt the different a7R2 bodies plays a role in the brightness of the imaging). I basically adjust by eyeball to get to a similar PP effect. The ZE is also a little cooler in color balance, and I'd say slightly sharper overall from wide open to stopped down. Also, I need to be more careful with the ZE as it has no electronic interface for image stabilization, so I only get the minimum from the camera body -- like using a "dumb" manual lens, but with electronics for aperture, etc. So, I'm pleased that you see little difference in the presented images -- both are good quality and amenable to judicious PP.
Here are a couple more from today, where the color might be more noticably differnent.
(I swear they are different images! Look at the leaves intruding on the lower right corner of one shot, as well as the exif below each image. I was standing still, hand held, not moving my feet -- one camera around neck, one on my left shoulder.)
Next, I want to compare the Batis 25 to the Loxia 25 -- I know what I'll find in many areas, but perhaps the Batis' "painterly effect" will come through more in direct comparison. The ZE 25/2 was a very new design, unveiled shortly before that line was discontinued, so it's now surprising the IQ is comparable to the Batis in many ways, but completely different internal design.

I own the Batis 25/2 and like it a lot and need to use it more.
Here is a shot from 2016 with the "ahead of its time" Sony ILCE-7RM2, post-processed in DxO PureRAW 2 and Capture One 23.

In a way I miss my Sony ILCE-7RM2 that I handed down to my daughter. It's in good hands and I am fortunate enough to be using my Sony ILCE-1.

All nicely done, Birdied. #3 is my favorite among them. Congrats on the new lens!
Looking at the trees in autumn color, homes, and Post Office beyond the retention ponds behind my home bathed in early morning golden sunlight. Several Groups of a Flock of I believe Canada Geese can be seen.
Hand Held, relying on IBIS, A1 and Voigtlander 50mm f2 Apo-Lanthar Asph lens; silent shutter.
ISO 100, f4 1/100 Second.
Exposure Corrected -1.05 Stops.

A lone dead tree in front of sand dune during “blue” hour although that particular color was entirely missing here but the remaining colors are intense. Yes, it was almost dark, hence the longish shutter speed.
Joshua -- Nothing short of stunning! Great images of Namibia. I remember first seeing images of this desert in the film, "The Cell" with Jennifer Lopez. Eerie and magical place!
