I just returned from a 6 day Backpacking trip in the back country of Glacier National Park with my son Kevin Israel. It was my first visit to the park and my only my second time backpacking. My son is the expert having previously been on the Pacific Crest Trail for 2.5 months, to Glacier many times as well as other areas. While it was a backpacking trip first and foremost, I managed to capture many images along the way.
We drove through the night from Minnesota to the park (18 hours). Upon our arrival, we drove the Going to the Sun Road, the only road that traverses the park. Of course, we stopped along the way for some photo ops even though the sun was high in the sky. Throughout the trip, smoke from nearby wildfires made for some hazy images. Sometimes, it was a feature and other times less so. Since I would be carrying a pack for all my needs for 6 days, my camera gear was simply my Sony a1 with a 24-105/4 for most of the images. I also brought the 14mm wide angle (for astrophotography) but used it sparingly. Additionally, I had a circular polarizer on the 24-105/4 and also brought a Kolari Vision magnetic 6-stop ND which fits over the sensor. It would prove valuable for waterfall shooting.
So, some of these first images are not from the hike, I call this Day Zero as we entered the park by car. The first images are of Lake MacDonald. Here, I was able to make good use of the haze caused by the smoke. A couple of Kayakers made for some perspective and scale.

A couple of shots from lasts weeks Sanicole Airshow in Belgium. It was my first Airshow with the a7iv and I'm not really that experienced in general, when in comes to aviation. The light was pretty unforgiving because the planes flew in front of the sun most of the time, but I still managed to get some really cool results.

Great shots! Looks like you got some wonderful photos! Good to see more FM representation at events
A mish mash of kid pics. First fencing competition for my oldest boy; he ended up getting 6th place in his category (out of 13 fencers). My niece in the pink socks has been competing for several years and is nationally ranked. The environment for taking photos of fencers in this type of competition is less than ideal, as you aren't allowed to get too close nor take the best angle available.
