Yes, the hummers do love the Mexican Cigar and the salvia . I planted that Cuphea in a hanging basket . I have waited for months for the male to show up during the day with sunlight . He normally shows up after dusk just before dark to feed. I have some shots but the high ISO is a real detriment to getting some detail. Enjoy your trip and looking forward to some more wonderful shots. Be safe .

Captured during an “Acqua Alta” period almost midnight in Venice some 6 years ago. The water height was a few inches and I had to wear rubber boots. I haven’t posted the first image but the second one was posted here before although this is a re-edited version, The girl on the right side happened to be there in the first image. Since she apparently could hold still, I asked her to pose for me in the second image for a few long exposure captures. It was windy, too and the umbrella was blurry but she did a great job. Since my Italian leaves a lot to be desired, the request was done by @ManuelLaMantia.

I saw the third chick, but it is smaller, and younger...you can see the age difference in these two chicks.. the older on the left.. more developed head and beak.The last image is a really really tight crop and the light was getting yucky.
We call him Oliver..as in "Please sir I want more" LOLOL

I LOVE your shots! These butterflies are gorgeous, as are your hummingbirds!!!! Once my beebalm blooms I am hoping to see more hummers again! They loved it last yr!

Birdie, she is not my wife)))), just a friend: real globetrotter and one of the best photographer and videographers I know. For now she found her inner happiness in Patagonia. If one day you decide to go there - drop me a line, you will not find better photo-guide onsite.
