That's a beauty, Joshua. I don't think I have seen one in picture before, TFS.
---------------------------------------------

I agree with Joshua, your pictures are always so nicely done. Finally I saw hummers at my feeder about a week ago, haven't been able to take any shots of them yet, not a fan of photographing hummingbirds at a feeder. I will perhaps wait until they feed on the flowers in my yard but they are not blooming yet.
We had an unusually cold April.

More from last week.

Thank you ver much, Doug! Your wonderful eagle images from Conowingo are making me envious… It is truly the case of the more you visit a site, the better your chances are of getting more “money” shots.

You are so lucky to have that available to you!
The large number of gnats around that nest are concerning.. I saw the female was agitated yesterday by them..they were not there three days ago

Thank you Cathy! I live about an hour drive from one of the best locations in north America for bald eagles photography. People from all over the U.S., and even from Canada or Asia travel there to photograph bald eagles catching fish and fighting over fish. Sometimes it's hit or miss, in terms of eagle activities.

I have never been able to get a good shot of a bald eagle nest, yours are a treat to view!

Beautiful portrait as usual, Joshua!

I arrived at Conowingo at 7:30 last Friday, stayed near the south end of the fishing pier until 10:30, very little activities, whatever were happening were pretty far away, then I decided to move to the north end of the pier to be closer to the dam. It was only about 40' difference in distance but has different angle due to the crescent shape of the pier. 10 seconds after I moved, before I could even set up in the new spot, an eagle swooped down and grabbed a fish about 50' from where I was, full frontal angle, I could see it from behind other photographers but it was too late to run back to get a shot. It could have been the best opportunity for me this season but I missed it. Everybody there laughed at me. I could only manage to get a few shots of the eagle after it ascended. This is one of the shots I got of this eagle when it flew over my head, it was that close. I think the eagle was teasing me.

Re-Entry | Denver, CO | 2022

This is a conceptual image that I recently finished called "Re-Entry". I work in the Space industry and so finding an image out in the field which stirred my imagination was quite exciting. The seashells reminded me of space capsules. There appears to be a cosmic bow shock in front of them. Nothing was added to this image aside from tonal and color adjustments.

Short lunch stop at 1900m was interrupted by a murder of 75-80 crows silently wheeling 400m overhead, in a circular pattern 50m across. Their wings sounded like a strong wind in the still mountain air. Never seen this before.

Probably my favorite barbet from South America. It was really far away and I had to crop the image quite a bit to get to this magnification. And I didn’t have time to change the TC to the 2X. Fortunately, the A1 sensor is capable in pulling this off…
