This is Fox Tor Mire on Dartmoor, better known to most people as the Grimpen Mire!
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was inspired to write "The Hound of the Baskervilles" when he visited this part of Dartmoor.
Walk across this part of the Moor at your own peril!....If the bog doesn't swallow you up the Dartmoor Beast will almost certainly get you!

Thank you very much, Birdie! Regardless of the location, your hummer image is exquisite; no ifs or buts about it.

I agree with Joshua, your pictures are always so nicely done. Finally I saw hummers at my feeder about a week ago, haven't been able to take any shots of them yet, not a fan of photographing hummingbirds at a feeder. I will perhaps wait until they feed on the flowers in my yard but they are not blooming yet.
We had an unusually cold April.

More from last week.

Rich, this picture reminds me of some of the food markets in China, from pig organs and how everything is hung in the open air, even in hot summer days, The things is, people there don't seem to get sick from eating food laying out in the open for hours in hot summer days. My family didn't have a fridge until 1981, or 1982.

Thank you Cathy! I live about an hour drive from one of the best locations in north America for bald eagles photography. People from all over the U.S., and even from Canada or Asia travel there to photograph bald eagles catching fish and fighting over fish. Sometimes it's hit or miss, in terms of eagle activities.

I have never been able to get a good shot of a bald eagle nest, yours are a treat to view!

On my Easter Sunday ride up into the Wye Valley I came across this lovely little church with a saddleback tower way off the beaten track at Penallt. I was not really 'Loaded for Church' in terms of lenses - I like the 14mm GM and sometimes 9mm Laowa especially for internals, but I had the Tamron 17-28 on the R4 and it can be quite handy.

Might be time for a sensor clean too !!
