Some shots of a young male snowy owl from yesterday morning. This is only my second time to see these majestic birds in the wild. It was my lucky day in that he wasn't very far away and the morning light was just beautiful. I even got some in flight shots.

Thank you Joshua! These were taken in the Amish area in Lancaster, Pa, where you were few months ago. Your picture of the Amazon landscape few pages back is otherworldly! Thank you for sharing pictures of the beautiful birds from S. America. Sure beats the ducks here.

It has been an awful winter so far. Rain and strong winds nearly every day and the temperature fluctuates between -2 and +2C. However, this week it has been snowstorms instead of rain, so I have taken lots of photos. It's pretty miserable being out in such weather and difficult to take photos, but like with fog it can make familiar places feel other-worldly. The snow together with sodium street lights give the photos a weird brownish tone so I made these B&W, but I'll post some others in color another day.
CV 35mm/1.7 VM (#1, 3, 7-8) and CV 75mm f/1.5 VM, most of them with a Tiffen Pearlescent diffusion filter.
