Lines, negative space, light and dark tones from the ice have transformed a 2 dimensional scene into a 3 dimensional image. What you are seeing is the surface of the frozen lake I visited recently. My vantage point was up on a hill looking across at the lake.

The concept itself is good.Yet the subject is too vague to speak to the viewer.Also upper and lower spaces are empty and say nothig,

Thank you Peire. I appreciate reading your thoughts on the image. It's definitely a nuanced image. Would a tighter crop help? I figured the negative space above and below would help draw the eye to the form and lines of the subject. Perhaps I was wrong.

To me,the watching eye should draw attention to the broken lines first.And the lines should be accentuated somehow (they are almost white and blunted - no attraction to the eyes of the viewer)
The negative spaces above and below are empty white and say nothing.Also add up nothing to the picture itself in my opinion.
If I were you I would get a much tighter crop to focus on the most interesting part of the broken line,sharpen up a picture to visualize details on the edge of the broken line,darken up the image to make the details more contrasty and probably adjust the Kelvin temperature to make the whole image cooler in order to create the winter mood.
If I were you I would chose another,more interesting winter subject.
Please,do not get me wrong.I assure you that I share your interest in showing something airy, elusive and wintery.But it is rather difficult to visualize that in the full beauty.I failed many times myself to deliver that.

Yet your bandit,soviet compatriots are preventing the people of the Eastern Europe to forget about any good practice in politics,alas.It is not your fault,of course.They were good-will russians in the history before.But too little of them.!
Russia died over during so called "revolution",started and won by bolshevik demons,being in fact a series of barbaric murdering of elites and whoever stood out above a hoard of local savages.Russia was always an aggressive country,does not matter by Tsars or Diabolic bolshevics and now,though crippled wants to achieve it's imperial goals of the past.That is funny,but undecided European powers will not say a definitive NO because of the small businesses they smell in the future,alas.
As the history teach,soviets will hear only the power.They will only stop being hitted in their ugly,soviet mouth!!!

They are primitive,aggressive,dirty,stinking,poor and underdeveloped,wanted all other people to come down to their lowest level just as they were invading my country in september 1939 and horribly again in 1944.
Soviets are always a disaster!!! For any country they ever invade!!!
Though they usually call this a liberation from occupation!!!!
