Once I have been invited to shoot jazz concert of my friend (it was quite a concert, with three arguably the best young jazz pianists of Europe on the stage!), and organizers of the event were so happy with the results of the photoshoot that I was paid more than generously. This changed my attitude to photography - I have decided to do it financially self-sustaining hobby. But as far as majority of my income comes from different sources, I still can afford to treat photography as a hobby (while profitable, but): it is my parallel life. Our island used to be very popular wedding and event destination (in pre-covid times), thus I always have an opportunity to choose clients and what I want to shoot.
One of the sources of income is prints sales in art galleries.
I have purchased 2470GM for the full price - and sales of one print below (canvas, A3 and larger) cover me the full cost of the lens in less than a year.
To continue the snow theme... A few more from last week. We are getting another snow storm on Sunday, perhaps only a few inches where I am, but 18-24 inches 150 miles west.
