Borrowing/renting to evaluate the Tamron 35-150 is a good strategy that makes a lot of sense. This lens has been heavily praised by the reviewers and users; thus, there is a real concern that some photographers interested in this lens may have unrealistic expectations. The Tamron stays attached to my camera, and it should remain my main tool in the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, I believe that a lens simply enables or facilitates some type of photography but would not normally transform one's work where the postprocessing is perhaps as important as the compositional skills of the photographer. The Tamron merely enables one to obtain good-quality raw images from 35 to 150 mm, open to F2-2.8 if needed. It is a highly versatile, yet a heavy and bulky lens that would not please everyone.
When comparing the IQ of lenses, compare the uncorrected images: then you may see some of the interesting differences in distortion, vignetting, CA.
Had to shoot up to Oxford yesterday on the bike so had the chance for a quick stop in Bibury in the Cotswolds on the way back - 4 years since I was there.

No, I just have the Loxia 21. I'm hoping someday for a CV 28/2 APO to come out as a compact replacement/addition to my Zeiss ZE 28/2 and MC-11. That would give me a useful CV trio: 15 - 28 - 40.
