At Lock Ridge Park in Alburtis, PA.
Last summer we had the opportunity to hike to Margherita hut (4559 m), close to the summit of Monte Rosa, the second highest peak in Europe (4634 m), between Italy and Switzerland.
Not difficult from an alpinistic standpoint, but surely demanding for our bodies used to live at sea level in Rome.
We slept at Gnifetti hut (3647 m) and the following morning our guide took us on a day-long trip to our target.
Very lucky to get such a beautiful weather, with temperature ranging around 0° Celsius and no wind.
Got with me only Batis 25/ and 40/2.
Hope you enjoy the pictures. (Many) more to come!
Ciao

About 5:00 a.m. preparing for the ascent
Daybreak on the glacier roped to the guide
Target is now in front of us!
View from the summit, looking at Switzerland and Mount Cervino (4478m)
My better half enjoying the view towards the Italian side
Very nice. I am not sure if I have ever seen a photo of a hummer perched on a flower before.

Thank you very much, Rich! All in the name of conserving energy… . The shape and rigidity of the flower stalk let them enable to do so. I have seen them do that in both Costa Rica and Ecuador.
