At the top of the Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA.
Just love the horse that emerges from this Hayagriva's head - eyes facing forward. Nearby Tabo Monastery gets all the attention but this nearby monastic chapel is artistically better, despite very poor upkeep by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Thank, K-H. I had 6 or 7 resident hummingbirds over the summer. They have left for the south. Recently I have seen one or two in my yard occasionally, I think these are coming from the north and making stopover along the way to the south. I thought hummingbirds in California don't migrate? They are truly amazing little creatures. Hard to imagine these little birds can fly thousands of miles in migration. I will miss them, until April next year.
Spiti's other worldly appearance posed a tough challenge here. It was handled surprisingly well by the lens's flat field and colour tonal grading, which added sufficient depth to the image, shot in murky light conditions.
12th century statue of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), revered by many as a second Buddha. Very elaborate hat, ear hangings, chest 'butterfly' and staff attest to the respect accorded to this 8th century figure who is credited with establishing Buddhism in Tibet. He has Indian and Greek facial features here. Shot in EV 0 light.
