After reading Bastians review of the Laowa 9mm f5.6 some time back I was intrigued enough to pick one up just before the trip up north. This is one of my early attempts with it and whilst far from being a technically accomplished shot it has captured a bit of the atmosphere I think and I like the bit of 'flare'.
I have done a little more with it now and am liking its possibilities, it does need a bit more PP than any other UWA I have used in this type of setting, but that is part of the fun.
Buddhism came late to the Himalayas. This 'later' statue dates from 996 AD, but the original anthropogenic form of Buddhist deities dates from the master sculptors of the Greek Kingdom in NW India, dated to around 100 BC. The boddhisattva doctrine of compassion propelled the faith to become dominant in East Asia and elsewhere.
