Returning to one of my favoured 'quiet spots' to get a wide scene with the Sigma 14-24. This is North Corner in Devonport one of a few publicly accessible points of access to the River Tamar within the footprint of the Naval Dockyard. The road bridge links parts of the dockyard together.

A quick follow-up. The Meike tubes available through Amazon in Canada do not have metal mounts. They are plastic. I returned them and bought the JJC ones Ronny mentioned - that was after asking owners whether the mounts were metal. They are.

Generic brands, Meike included, do not manufacture their own products. Depending on the batch, the products may indeed vary. Yes, it is better to have a metal mount for more or better durability.
