Activity in the back yard has risen to almost a constant state of Hummingbird battles over the feeder. This guy seems to be the Alpha bird. He sits on these flowers watching over the feeder. When one of the others starts to feed from it, he is off like a SAM missile. Intense little guy.
The image was pretty much unusable at ISO 2000 (This is like ISO 10,000 in a modern sensor) but by following the steps below, I was able to restore it to acceptable levels:
1) Imported the ISO 2000 images using DXO Pure Raw (using DeepPrime noise reduction technology straight on the RAW file)
2) Combined the 3 brackets shots using LR's HDR function.
3) Run Lightroom's "super resolution" to increase detail level
The sky and rocks are pretty much noiseless now the colors are still vibrant.
I'm sharing this technique for those who want cleaner and more detailed files regardless of the ISO setting or camera used.
