Thank you very much, Douglas! Those birding spots are fairly close and easily reachable. Plus, you don't suffer jet lag going to and coming from there. You should go to one of those destinations, There are so many exotic and colorful birds still to be discoveredI, making me feel that I barely have scratched the surface shooting.

Frist test with tubes today on dragonflies
works well but there is quite a lot of play in the tubes
Most play in the lens mount
also plastic mount which I don't like
but if they work well, that's ok
the price is quite a big difference from kenko about 40 dollars and a little more expensive in sweden but here kenko tubes cost almost 200 dollars here
but they don.t seem to lose AF and at least remain on the camera and lens

Dave, Ronny, I bought a set of Meike extension tubes and I used them a fair amount in Ecuador to get the 600mm lens to focus closer. Prior to that I used them a fair amount locally, too. The Meike has a metal mount but I am not sure to what extent it would be sturdier and so far so good. I had an older set with plastic mount and one of them developed some contact issues and is no longer working. Just FYI, the price of the Meike is also a fraction of that of Kenko,
I just returned from a 3-day canoe adventure on the Devils River in West Texas. Took an A7C and a few lenses in a dry case, and the case was very well tested! It was a really challenging and incredible experience. Our guide from Far West Texas Outfitters was exceptional. If you are unfamiliar with this river, it is a pristine spring-fed river feeding into the Rio Grande at the Mexico border, and access is limited.

Many thanks Joshua. I'll take a look at those. I have a small meike flash and for the price it works extremely well.
