A few shots from my yard yesterday afternoon. The dark background is the shaded part of a Japanese maple tree about 6 feet /2 meters from the hummingbirds, easy to make it even darker in post processing but the dark background may not be everyone's cup of tea. This was the first time of the season I was able to get a clear shot of a male hummingbird (the 3rd picture), he was in shade in late afternoon, hence the high ISO. Topaz denoise is a godsent for us bird shooters.
Photo taken as the sun is clearing the trees about 8 minutes after sunrise.
Looking at the sun coming up and Big Meadows.
Tripod mounted Sony A7r camera and Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit lens.
ISO 200, f11, 1/400 second.
Exposure corrected by +0.20 Stops.
