Thanks, yes it is (I think all 35-70 are MMJ actually). Interestingly it does makro too, so besides Greggs inspiring 35-70 BW images in this thread I was also thinking about your breathtaking makrostuff :-)
nice .. had a Nikon 35-70 2.8 D before and it was good and fun with macro function ...looking forward to pictures

Nice gregg! Just called in a mint Contax 35-70 at 300€. As you use both the Rokkor and Contax zooms, what is your verdict?
Hey Wilhelm,
I actually received a Leica R 35-70/4 Macro the other day too! Kinda compared them very, very briefly, and while the Leica Vario-Elmar is a really nice lens, I still prefer the Contax to all three. But, the MD Rokkor definitely holds it's own! And it's a $100 lens! The Contax and the R go pretty much hand in hand. The Rokkor macro only goes to 1:4 while the R to 1:2.8, and I'm not sure of the Contax( does anyone know?), but it's pretty close to the R. I must have a stellar Contax, cause it is quite awesome! And it has 8 blades(most contax I've come across only have 6, except my 2/100, which also has 8), while the R and MD both have 7. Funny, cause the wiki page for Leica states the Vario-elmar 35-70/4 as having 8??
Your going to love the Contax!! It's great on the A7...no doubt, and congrats!!
Gregg
So...I'm looking to do a possible trade with the Vario-Elmar at the moment. If that doesn't go through, I'll be putting it up on the BS forum....
Last couple from the Park. I didn't want to give this one up but I'm not at all sure if I like it or not. Noisy from the 'film-like' processing in Silver Efex. Does it work or not ?

Thanks Gregg! The vario-sonnar is "1:2.5". I understand what it means in words but not what it means when shooting :-)
I am not sure if this is not needed, but it means that the smallest subject you can shoot and fill the frame with is 36*2.5 = 90mm wide, in landscape mode, on FF.
This was fun. Hot rod and antique auto street show. They filled (and blocked) the streets of downtown Lansing, Michigan. There must have been 250 to 300 exhibitors...including the motorcycles. Every one of them was in show quality condition. There were hundreds of people around and no chance of getting these beautiful machines in isolation. The bright sun and very glossy paint jobs made it like shooting into mirrors! All a7r with FE24-70 hand held.
Thanks for looking,
Mark
Great car shots, I like to shoot them too, when there is lots of people the only way to get the car without people in the way is to use a very wide lens.
Here are some images that I took last evening in magic hour and a little before sunset on the property of the Trexler Nature Preserve Environmental Center, Schnecksville, PA. with my tripod mounted A7r and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens. All images processed in LR5.5.
