My wife, son, and our two doxies taking a stroll in the only dog accessible trail in Zion. This was our first visit to the park. Pretty packed place but still beautiful to drive through and walk around.

A couple shots with my new toys yesterday. Look at the sad eyes of the fish in the third picture, makes me feel sorry for the poor fish. I am amazed how massive the bald eagles' wingspan is.

You all have a great weekend!

The detail is definitely there and extremely impressive indeed, Joshua. Nice hummer shot on the last page.
Wonderful series, Helena. I wouldn't go out in that weather, let alone take pictures .

Sony a1 and 70-350 at 70mm and f5.6. This is not a typo. Unfortunately, I didn't have any other lens with me at the time, and as you can imagine, 70mm in crop mode was way too narrow to capture the entire tree. I ended up taking four shots and stitched them together. In retrospect, I should have brought the 28-200.

Absolutely great images, Douglas! I would post the eagle images in the N&W forum, too.

Thank you very much, Chris!

Why did you shoot in crop mode since it was too narrow already? Just curious... The resulting stitched image is amazing though.

Absolutely incredible images. I feel like the A1 has unilaterally changed the game in the IQ of BIF photography. I don't shoot birds enough to explain a purchase to the wife, but I'm loving the images you guys are capturing.

That first eagle shot is sublime...

...and then you scroll to the next one, also sublime...and then...

Really striking shots with the bird having intense humanlike expressions.

Just for once, I'm gonna break the rules, this picture is not from me: https://www.instagram.com/p/CNu1FvLhULe/

Legendary photographer David Burnett shot it with an A7RIII, and posted it today on Insta. I'm not a fanboy, but hey, come on, this is David Burnett, let's hear what he has to say about his beloved camera "So I have to say that I have been completely won over the last 3 years (which have raced by) with my Sony a7riii bodies when I’m just carrying a camera in moments of visual wandering. The kind where you simply don’t know if a picture will emerge. One of the great things about these cameras (the a7/a9/a6600) - mirrorless as they are, is that with a $15 adapter ring, you can put almost any old lens ever made on that body, and dwell in its bokeh. I bought a NikonS/Contax mount 1960s (I think…maybe 1950s) Jupiter12 35mm/2.8 wide angle that I’m assuming once lived on a KIEV rfdr camera in some Eastern bloc country. With all the advances in technology, a lot of old glass is coming to market. It’s a lot of work (although when you setup C2 on the Sony body for “blow up viewfinder 8x” ) you can focus in what would have been called a “hurry” in 1963. The lens has a sweet look, and being a manual lens, forces you to really WANT to find that picture. I love all the G and Gmaster glass in my bag, but now and then, it is visually refreshing to slow yourself down, and try to remember what the Eisenhower years* were like for photographers. *If you have to ask what “the Eisenhower years” means, gimme a call. They were oh, so refreshing…"

I've shot this dock a dozen times or more, usually I wait for the light to fade but decided to shoot right at the start of blue hour to get more natural light.

A snowy series from a few days ago. Shooting in the snow is always a good (yet cold) time. Everything was shot with my Sony A7III and Vivitar Series 1 90mm f2.5 Macro wide open at f2.5.
