Not originally - we're one of those Texas to Colorado transplants. Moved to Denver in 2019 and then to Lakewood within the last year. We should meet up sometime once the mountains thaw.
Since this is an image thread, here's a shot of Chief from Squaw Pass fire lookout. Sadly that cloud blanket on the horizon
ruined my hopes for sky candy. Anyways, another great hike in that area in case you haven't been. Since reservations for the lookout are closed due to Covid, anyone can hike up and see the view.
Unfortunately I have not had the chance to shoot in the best of light (ie sunrise, blue hour, etc) due to family commitments. Still, I am grateful for the chances to get into the mountains to explore on my off Fridays. This scene with the texture, color, and form of the tree against the mountain backdrop caught my attention. Some tricky focus stacking and finessing of the tones resulted in this final image.

Oh man that's so cool. We too moved in October 2019 from Texas to Denver. We are in Centennial now. Yeah man, we should go do some exploring and shooting in a month or so. Things are starting to green up a bit.
