Thank you very much, Barry! You have the vision of a painter. I am repeating myself, a lot of your shots have the looks of the old oil paintings by the European masters I see in museums.

Went out to Arlington National Cemetery this afternoon to try out the infrared camera again.

Thank you Douglas for that lovely compliment...very most kind.of you :-)
Again really enjoying your stunning infrared images...beautifully PP together with strong composition in the cemetery.

This is the second photo I posted after I got the A7R4. It's been re-processed, hopefully, for the better.

Happy Easter to all of our members and their families. And Happy Passover (which ends later today) for all of our Jewish friends and families.

Cropped from left and right, tripod mounted 200-600mm G set to 200mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.

Lots of impressive shots on those last few pages. Needless to say, I used the like button a lot.

Unfortunately, I managed to go out only once with my camera to take pictures of cherry blossoms. A1 in crop mode used in conjunction with the 70-350 at 211mm and f8 for DOF. Reasonably compact combo.

Thanks Helena!

Yes, this is my reclaimed hometown.

I was born here in 1952. I moved to Southern CA in 1973 after working, and finishing some junior college classes for a few semesters, and made a life down there until we purchased my family's old home, which had been sold off and gone to foreclosure and was vacant and overgrown when we found it on a visit to town in 2014. We went through a series of three auctions for the bank-owned property, and finally acquired it after the third try. We worked on the house over five years, with me driving up and down the West Coast between locations for over five years, and moved up permanently just before the Covid panic hit. So, we have been living here in Aberdeen on a permanent basis since March 2020, and sold our CA home in July 2020, completing the move.

It's been a very tumultuous time, full of some excitement and satisfaction. I love reconnecting with my roots and adjusting to the new way of life. My wife, Terry, has been working remotely for her company, and will likely continue for a few more years, padding our retirement a little and paying for more improvements to the house.

I hope my love and enjoyment in the area and the people here comes through, even though I focus quite a bit on the urban decay and "weathering" of all man-made structures. Still, like our story, there are many renovations and people moving to the area for retirement or the lower cost of living. There is a mini-renaissance taking place with a lot of house-flipping and structural make-overs.

This house I lived in for around 2 years with my Uncle and Aunt Rutledge, during my 9th and 10th grades of high school in Hoquiam, WA. It is still owned by my cousin, John, and used as a rental. The wall on the porch says, "The Rutledge Home."

Very nice going Jim.
Wonderful pictures of an interesting neighborhood.
That sure was a lot of driving.
What is the one way distance?
Cheers, K-H.

UPDATE: Bob the Clown -- victim of Easter hate crime?

Horrific dismemberment shocks community!

Possibility of gang attack by band of roving neighborhood raccoons.

Weather prognosticators propose possibility be a simple weather event: gust of wind. Lack of structural stability cited. Counter-reports challenge wind-based assault, instead accuse prognosticators of bias and hysteria.
