This female peregrine falcon is carrying fertilized eggs and she needs nutrition for them. This was taken 10 days ago. She must have laid her eggs by now but the nest is well hidden under the cliff and completely out of sight from the cliff above.

This is nature and this is wildlife... The kill was gone in about 10 minutes or so.

Excellent shots Joshua. Amazing it only took about 10 minutes.

During a hike in the mountains this morning here in Colorado, I captured this image of a group of trees in the snow. I was really interested in the various characteristics of the trees. Some were fallen. Some were bare. Some were taller than others.

Thanks. Terrific graphical effect. That lens delivers in spades.
Which camera did you use? TIA.

Thanks for the info.
I still have and am using my A7R and A7RII, but not for birding.
With them I would miss too many shots, in particular of Hummingbirds.
The A7RII is great for landscapes and such.
The A7R for certain use cases can develop unfortunately shutter shock.
However, in comparison to more recent Sony cameras it is so small and light.

My go to camera for most uses though is my A9 until I get an A1.
It will be interesting to see also how the 50 MP A1 compares to the 50 MP Fuji GFX 50S for non-action photography.
Both Fuji and Sony have great lenses.
Those systems complement each other nicely IMHO.

It is really impressive how much cameras have improved in such a short time.
The same can be said for some lenses, although certain older lenses have a carefully through aberrations designed in charm.

K-H.

Thank you again, Birdie. These Brown Pelican shots have been a lot of fun to process and post. They are from late December. I will be out today and tomorrow to try to capture more.

Today’s shot of the amazing Ghost Mantis (Phyllocrania paradoxa), fifth instar, shot with an A7RIV and Sony 90mm macro, 800 iso, and I think I had it set to f7.1.
The little creature had just finished snacking on a number of fruit flies.

Those are fantastic photos Douglas! What setup on the A73 do you have for the infrared conversion?

Thank you! I am totally new to IF photography. Glad you like them. I have very little Photoshp skill to play around with the channel mixing stuff and I can't envision myself ever doing colored IF photos, so I had the 850 nm conversion. It's already B&W coming straight out of the camera.
