Thank you, Birdied! It means a lot coming from you.

Went to Conowingo again today to shoot bald eagles, but it was a meh day for eagle actions. The fish catching actions were few and far between, when they happened, it was either butt shot or too far way (even for A7R4+200-600+1.4 TC in crop mode) with busy backgrounds. Anyway, here are two that are more interesting to me from today.

Really like your moody photos sebboh.

Thank you Jim, Besar, Douglas and therealthings! Sadly, most of the snow is gone already due to rain and wind. Typical early winter weather nowadays.

Helena -- Beautiful shots with your new CV 75!

I can see what you mean about it having a much different rendering than the 7A 75. But some of my favorite shots from you have been with the CV 40/1.2, so perhaps this new CV 75 will be a good companion on those days you like the 40? Maybe you are inclined to a bright/sunny set, and an overcast/dreamy set of lenses? Either way, your shots are always wonderful to see.

Beautiful as always! Thank you for the kind words. I generally prefer lenses with a more gentle rendering. CV 75 is a bit too contrasty and like I mentioned before it has deeper DoF and less smooth background blur than 7Artisans 75/1.25. It's easier to focus though, nearly half the weight and much more flare resistant, so I think there's room for both. CV 40/1.2 is nice, but now when I'm in this 75mm phase I prefer to bring my old CV 35/1.7 instead since it's smaller and can share the M adapter.

Some more from the CV 75mm, all at f/1.5:

Gorgeous light on the egret, Joshua. I always have trouble with white feather exposures even with exposure compensation.

Some more shots from yesterday's outing to Conowingo, didn't get any decent fish snatching shots this time, too far away, just a butt shot.

For my FM American friends, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you very much, Douglas! The DR of the Sony sensor seems to be able to bridge that condition and of course, you have to tweak it later on in the PP.

Great eagle actions you got there. So, the A7r IV has shown improvement with that lens, right? Still, keep in mind that the AF performance of that camera is behind that of the A9/A9 II.

Have a safe Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Joshua. I haven't seen mandarin ducks in our region. I heard they showed up in New York somewhere. They are certainly more colorful than the wood ducks around here. BTW, Troy was at Conowingo last week. I didn't know so I didn't get to see him. Crazy that some people would travel from the west coast to Maryland to photograph bald eagles. Then I remember you went to Costa Rico for birds too!

For me, to get sharp pictures with the A7R4+200-600 at 600mm or 840 with TC, I need higher shutter speed for BIF. High ISO be damned thanks to denoise AI. I am getting more keepers now but I do wish the A7R4 had higher frame rate, doesn't need to be 20 like the A9, 15 with real time feed would be very nice. The A9 does give me a lot more shots of the precise moment the eagles snatch fish out of water to choose from, but more shots to delete too.

Will see if Sony will really release a high resolution and high speed body in January, as rumor has it. Happy Thanksgiving!

A few shots around Tallahassee.

We don't have any grand vistas like the West or gorgeous coast-lines like Maine or the Big Sur, but man we do have trees. Here's a few from a morning walk plus a cloud panorama.
