Sigma 24-70/2.8 DG DN for Sony E - another prime-like zoom from Sigma.Slightly below the level of the Sigma 14-24/2.8 Art overall, but very close.I mean real life photography mostly, but excellent laboratory results with this lens are pretty easy achievable.Just a matter of stopping 1-2f stops for perfect sharpness here and there and/or slight correction in LR for barrel (wa end) plus pincushion (tele end) distortion. In turn you got excellent sharpness, contrast and pleasing colour rendition throughout the zoom range plus constant f2,8 and other many other usefull features, like bulit quality, responsive AF,ceteraque.

Please,bare in mind that I am mostly a prime,manual addict,using zooms

There is a nature area a short walk from home with a nice mix of bogs, meadows and small forested mountains. I like to go there early in the mornings when there are no other people, fewer bugs and better light.

Yesterday I had a close encounter with a yearling moose. To my surprise and joy it was really curious and kept following me around! It continued to eat calmly even when it was only 2-3 meters away. It even tried to walk all the way up to me, but since they can be dangerous I didn't let it even though it didn't seem threatening at all. What a wonderful experience to be that close to a wild animal for almost an hour and no other people around!

The light was tricky so I chose to make them B&W.

Another morning with gorgeous clouds in northern Montréal. Shot with a 28mm f/2 Minolta Rokkor (at f/11); as I've noted here before it's not a very sharp lens but it has a painterly quality that I'm really starting to love.

That was a close encounter, Helena! Great shots as always. I am hoping to see some elks in autumn foliage next month in Pennsylvania.
