So my mother-in-law wanted an environmental family portrait for a project I volunteered myself for.
I drove to a spot I had scouted earlier that day and set up my tripod and remote software. Unfortunately, I forgot to set image quality to RAW, so it was JPEG only. Of course I didn't realize this until after the shoot.
I was disappointed, since I'm typically a RAW guy, but we got back home and I opened it up on the PC and was pleased to say that at ISO 100 at least, the image worked fine and was surprisingly detailed at 1:1. A few tweaks and it was ready
(Disclaimer - I'm not a portrait guy and I forget to smile all the time)
This is one of the sweetest birds I have met. She is 23 years old and just wanted attention and to be petted. FE 24-70. I used existing light and auto ISO to avoid startling the bird. Post in LR 5.5
Thanks for looking,
Mark
Awesome shots of fireworks, Bob!
Ronny...your macros never cease to amaze me!!! Switching over to the C/Y Zeiss Distagon 28mm F/2.8 This is a 28mm lens that works very well on the A7r
couldn't agree more, Ebookman...love mine, too! In fact, here are my very first attempts at shooting fireworks with the A7 and C/Y 28 2.8, myself!

^ I typically don't dig B&W fireworks (I mean, what's the point?) but I like that last one - the reflections on the faces (or silhouette rim lighting, whatever) make it
