Watching the fireworks from our upstairs window . . .

Lots of post processing in this one as the exposure had to be pushed 3+ stops in post . . .

I have recently visited an old railway depot and had a reason to give a try to my wa Zeiss ZE lenses with the A7/Metabones III.
Distagon 21/1.8 ZE confirmed it's strong position on the A7 being still the best wa lens that I have.Very sharp and very contrasty.Some negligible corner smearnig visible at f2.8.
21/1.8 at f2.8
Distagon 28/2 ZE is a very good lens,but not up to the 21/2.8.It could have been better if the field curvature wasn't that pronounced.But stop it down to f5.6 and it turns up excellent.Corner smearing at f5.6 is acceptable,but 21/2.8 has the same amount of it only at f2.8.
28/2 at f5.6.BTW:this old carriage served the famous Orient Express before the WWII.
Planar 50/1.4 ZE at f1.4 - well,just a great lens.Here it captured the old steam engine from 1890.
Makro Planar 100/2 - superb lens as we all know.Pictured the german steam engine from the WWII.

This is stockfish, or dried cod, in Norway you find this quite often

Newfoundland Fishing 'Stages':
The old timers would catch the cod and bring it back to the family dock or "Stage" to salt and then dry the fish.
Many of these old structures remain along the shoreline, slowly rotting into the sea but providing great subject matter.

Rokinon 14mm F/ 2.8 Every time I put this monster 14mm on my A7r I think of Charles and his little Leica WATE.
Switching over to the C/Y Zeiss Distagon 28mm F/2.8 This is a 28mm lens that works very well on the A7r.
