We had a rare mid-April snow this morning. Probably will only last a day before melting with temps tomorrow forecasted to be in the 60's F. Many trees are just in the phase were they have flowers blooming and their leaves ready to pop but now with a fresh coat of spring snow. Some of the ice formations look a bit like creatures to me! Check out pics 3+4, or maybe I've been quarantined too long?
Lovely Korzok, on the shores of remote Tso Moriri in the disputed East Ladakh-West Tibet border region. The authorities have done a good job of keeping mass tourists out thus far. The 4500m altitude plays its part too. It's easy to find several walk up peaks of 6000m in the ranges near here.
Mask Chic (2) - Tibet might be the only place where people (mostly women) wear masks as a matter of course, to: humidify the ultra dry air, to protect their skin and for a little warmth on the face. They range from utilitarian to quite stylish. Hopefully this will catch on in the West.
