I took a break from editing winter landscape images to work on something completely different. I'm not too fond of zoos but I took my family to the Denver zoo today. I brought along my FE 100-400 GM lens. This is a close-up shot of one of the elephants. I used the mid morning light to shape the profile of the elephant's features. Hope y'all enjoy this one.
I just arrived in Barcelona for work. Threw down my bags and took a walk to the beach near my hotel.
Thank you very much, Bob! Enjoy Barcelona and we sure enjoy your first images from there.

I went to the Hooded Merganser site again this morning, hoping that I would be able to capture another set of battles between mergansers vs. crayfish. But there was no show this morning. Out of 5 times, I could witness the battle twice, which is not bad and the first one was the best.
The mergansers were still there; they swam up and down and they did a few dives but they didn't catch anything. But, it looked like they didn't do it seriously, like they did previously. At any rate, here is an image of a male merganser and just for the heck of it, I also uploaded a crop the same image. Thank you!
Looking from the top of the Preserve down at trees whose leaves are aglow from backlighting sunlight.

Joshua, Ronny, Douglas: Great bird shots. You guys really make those feathery friends shine.
Bob: Nice series from Barcelona. Nice to some somebody with talent making good use of the much maligned 35 1.8.
Helena: Really beautiful lightning in those shots. You don't see to have a lot of snow, though.
Jordan: Amazing series of waterfall shots.
Talking about waterfalls, finally managed to take a few pictures again. Loxia 21 at f6.3.
Thanks Chris and great shot from you
Joshua: Great shot as always
Bob : Really nice shots from Barcelona
Jim : Loxia 25 looks very good, great shots
Rich : Lovely colors
Ray : Very nice shots och great colors and clarity
Great Tit

Oh my all kinds of detail goodness here!! The R4 with the 600 prime give amazing results. Do doubt what that combo can do in your hands. Your exposure is excellent as well.
I’ve lately been forcing myself to use the Tamron zoom instead of my primes for indoor portraits with flash. I am finding that I wind up shooting around 50mm frequently yet whenever I slap a 50mm prime on, I’m not a huge fan of the focal length 🤷♂️. Anyone else have that experience with zooms and primes?
