Love the warm light this time of year, but with the sun being so low it can be hard to find places in town where it reaches.

Joshua, Ronny, Douglas: Great bird shots. You guys really make those feathery friends shine.
Bob: Nice series from Barcelona. Nice to some somebody with talent making good use of the much maligned 35 1.8.
Helena: Really beautiful lightning in those shots. You don't see to have a lot of snow, though.
Jordan: Amazing series of waterfall shots.
Thank you very much, Chris! You scored big with that waterfall image, it is just wonderful!

Here is an image from 2017 - in less than 2 weeks, I will find out how the Sigma 35mm f/1.2 DN will perform here but frankly, I couldn't complain about this particular lens used here. File just edited using only LR in anticipation of this event.
As I was shooting towards an impressive section of the Rockies, I looked over and saw this cloud catching some great color at sunrise. I quickly setup (again with my broken tripod) and managed to capture the scene. It reminds of this giant fire ball raining down from the sky.

Love the wide angle use on the second shot Bob. Do you use a tripod for shots like this?
Thanks Dennis. These are all handheld shots as they don’t allow tripods in the Basilica. Besides, it’s just way to many people visiting. I had to wait a bit to get a clear shot of the organ pipes.

I figured Bob, but the shots were so sharp and clear I had to ask

Many thanks for the praise, Joshua. Much appreciated. I have been to these particular falls several times already, but the lightning with the sun above the falls make for challenging conditions. I don't know how often I wiped the filter dry. Eventually, I ended up combining four shots in post.

Looking at a small portion of the congregated Snow Geese that I would estimate were in the thousands. In this image the geese were on the far side of the fence and into the farmers fields beyond the retention ponds behind our home. The Snow Geese continued onto the flooded land on both sides of the creek on the other side of the retention ponds (on the one side farmers fields were flooded).
Tripod mounted 200-600mm G set to 600mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.
