Do you notice the dark feathers of the "chin" or "throat"? At certain angles, those dark feathers can turn iridescent blue but dark blue and darker than the blue color of the tail.
One reason to visit in September is the incredible weather at the watershed between Nepal and Tibet, seen by only a handful of thousands of visitors a year. Snow in Tibet is wet, heavy and sloppy, falls then disappears in 10 minutes - gotta be ready.
