This is a 'cave monastery' built over a meditation cave used by culture hero Naropa, an early (c1000) master in the lineage that eventually led to the flowering of the Kagyupa Order of Tibetan Buddhism. It's Zongkul, near the central valley of Zanskar, in modern day India.
