hello all!
I have some photos from my Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 that I will be posting soon but I can't use the lens wide open during the brighter times of the day so what 52mm ND filters would you all suggest? and should I go with fixed or variable for street/walkaround?

Prices for ND filters very considerably and to start with or just wanting to try it out probably a Tiffen or Hoya would be reasonably priced and of decent quality. I use fixed filters from nd4 to nd8 and works good for afternoon high sun.

Cheap variables suck, there may be good ones, the cheaper fixed ND's may have color cast, but that is relitivly easy to fix.

Further testing today/this evening in a 'water-town' called Qibao, very close to where I live in Shanghai.
BTW - if anyone has any experience with 50-58mm f1.2 lenses or the Contax 70-200 please take a look here :

OK the images. First off I have to say that although the Contax R90 AFs nicely with the TechArt adaptor the AF is glacial and I'm sure I could MF faster and sometimes I just want focus somewhere else ! Daytime definitely better for this lens.
Let's start with the portraits : All Contax R90 and all wide open @ f2.8 except Mouthful & The Street Jeweller (FE55 @ f1.8)

Had a nikkor 35-70 2.8D which had such a macro function .. it was great
