I took some shots of last nights Super Moon. I also did a seperate time lapse (that I have to process) of the moon rising above the mountain and Heublin Tower (pictured here).
A little history on this iconic local site here in Simsbury, Connecticut:
The 165-foot-tall (50 m) Heublein Tower is located in Talcott Mountain State Park in Simsbury, Connecticut and provides panoramic views of the Hartford skyline, the Farmington River Valley, and surrounding areas that are particularly spectacular in the fall. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
Gilbert Heublein was a magnate in the area of food and beverage, most notably as manufacturer of A.1. Steak Sauce and Smirnoff vodka; he founded Heublein Inc.
While hiking with his then-fiancé Louise M. Gundlach on Talcott Mountain, he promised her that one day he would build her a castle there.
Taken with my A7R3 and FE 100-400 at 400mm in crop mode. It was barely 15 degrees F with blustery winds at 10-20 mph. Very chilly
Staying in the same "moon" theme as the wonderful image @Chuck Coyne posted above, but this one was captured at Bosque and early in the morning as the moon was about to set.

Here is a timelapse video of last nights Super Snow Moon shot while taking some stills with the 100-400 in crop mode (see above photo). I shot this timelapse on my backup A7R2 with the 24-105 set at 105mm and with the camera in 1.5 crop mode. I processed in LR CC and with LRTimelapse Pro 5 software.
Ronny, Joshua, Bastian and Chuck - really nice work !
Fred, beautiful image. I was getting ready to list my Zeiss 35/1.4 ZM for sale very reluctantly and your beautiful image pops up. Now I'm not sure I want to sell this lens.
Amazing work as always on these pages. On the road so a little behind, but enjoying catching us. Cold, snowy morning in Western Maryland, had a few minutes and found this lonely tree in an empty field. Six shot pan with the Loxia 35 @ f/5.6
Decided to go out and get one last shot of this Super Snow Moon tonight as it rises above the ridge line on Tolcott Mountain. It rose much later tonight at this spot and it was very dark compared to the moon rise yearterday earlier and at a lower point on the mountain ridge line.
A7R3 with FE 100-400 + 1.4 teleconverter + 1.5 crop mode = 840mm
