What's interesting about the Mesquite Sand Dunes is how the dunes reflect the color and light in the sky. This was shot during early sunset when the sky started to glow with soft pink and pastel hues.
I have that same zoom and love it (bought here on B&S from Mathieu). I'm certainly going to have to try it for some twilight city shots! Thanks for providing such great inspiration.

Thanks Jim,
The lens, if you have a good copy, is great. Little vignetting and soft corners but if you know how to use it it's a great value for money. I have mine for well over 10 years and probably will never part with it because it is such a light 200mm to take with me on trips.
I went back to examine some of the images taken last summer with the 70-200/4L and did a little revising on the PP. Nothing to compare with that iconic SF/Bay Bridge, but I like the graphics from isolated architectural details.
Ronny -- I hope you are doing the location scouting for a series of Peter Jackson movies of Tolkien's "The Silmarillion." I see that amazing creation tale and exalted tragedy in your Scandinavian trips.
Looking out at Badwater Basin from the parking lot. It's a long walk out to the salt basin. This is about 280 below sea level. Shot this handheld as we were leaving. I enjoyed the reflection of the snow capped peak.
