Congrats on your new toy, Gregg!
I find the latest Nokton 50/1.5 ASPH LM to be an outstanding lens on A7/R. It’s small, light, sexy (especially in chrome) and priced just right. Most of all, I like its character the most of my all 50s. It doesn’t rank as #1 in any particular optical quality, but it blends all aspects of performance standing on the top, IMO.
Here is a quick set from yesterday and this morning on how it performs comparing to other strong #1 candidate.
All shots at f/2. Summilux is sharper in the center and it has smoother OOF transition; however.

Here a SOOC .jpgs with the CV Nokton 50 1.5 ASPH...I did minor tweaks of exposure on a couple, but that was it. Most I didn't do any PP at all. This lens has tons of character, and Yes, Jack, I'm am enjoying it very much so far!
