A shooting buddy and I went to this location in an attempt to photograph hooded mergansers hunt for crayfish. They were there alright but apparently they had a big meal for New Year's celebration. Here is the consolation price.... a common white egret that jumped around to get fishes to come out. Egrets are common alright but the lighting and pose make it a passable image...
I didn't bring my Canon 24mm TSE on this particular trip to shoot the historic Pearl for some reason. So I captured 2 shots and merged them into a vertical pano. I think it turned out fine. I love the shadow of the tree in the foreground.
