Today I tried Canon FD SSC 55/1.2 Aspherical for the first time.It has more saturated colours than it's non aspherical brother and very nice, smooth bokeh.Sharpness is similar though.

Yesterday's stroll in the fields with the favourite MC Rokkor PG 50/1.4
I recently did a number of comparison images from Zeiss lenses: ZF.2 35/2 and ZE 25/2. Same processing settings were used on each, except for exposure adjustment. Hand held, so some slight differences in composition.
Just thought it was interesting to see how each lens rendered and told its story.

It is not small, but it is the best 50 I have used. I never thought that there would be a day when the 50 cron ASPH and Rokkor 58 would largely be collecting dust because they had been displaced, but the FE 50 has substantially reduced their camera time in my house.
Great shot, BTW!!!

Thank you, Jim! I do not have the 50mm corn ASPH but I agree with you regarding the IQ that FE 50mm f/1.4 being the best out of all 50mm lenses I have owned and used in the last 40 years or so.
If I'd been asked a month ago what was the likelihood of my getting a Planar FE 50/1.4 I would have replied: "Less than zero". Then DavidBM made me buy one and now I'm almost at the point of saying that if I could have only one lens, this would be it. My next choice would be the A-mount Planar 50/1.4 SSM.
Jonathon, actually your recent post a few pages back made me take that lens last weekend for that session. And I ended up using that lens quite a bit. However, I am still working on the images and will post a few more later.
This is a great shot but I'm getting some really funky artifacts in the image (grid/line artifacts) -- is this just me? If not, maybe FM's compression (if any) or an output setting?
I've been busy traveling for work and not enough play. This morning however, was a little bit of sunrise on the horizon. Taken with the A7r2 + Zeiss Distagon 35/2 ZE + MC-11 with smooth reflections app.
