From last weekend using the FE 50mm f/1.4 almost at wide open... Because of the bulk and weight, I don’t use this lens that often but each time I do, I come back impressed. What a lens!

It is not small, but it is the best 50 I have used. I never thought that there would be a day when the 50 cron ASPH and Rokkor 58 would largely be collecting dust because they had been displaced, but the FE 50 has substantially reduced their camera time in my house.

If I'd been asked a month ago what was the likelihood of my getting a Planar FE 50/1.4 I would have replied: "Less than zero". Then DavidBM made me buy one and now I'm almost at the point of saying that if I could have only one lens, this would be it. My next choice would be the A-mount Planar 50/1.4 SSM.

Great to have you back posting.
Beautiful B&W shot!
Thank you Jim! You all missed me in the last few months
René, thanks for the Saint-Raphael series! Very nice memories for me... I lived there for one year in 2008.

Wonderful image. I feel like Humphrey Bogart should walk into the frame if I blink.
Jim
Thank you Jim, the title of that workshop was "Vintage road" and the setting in 40s 50s so Humphrey was just around the corner
I made a mistake with the name of this girl... Lilly was another model of the group and I can not remember her name. Even my shooting buddy does not remember the name
Interested in your opinion about skin tone on this color version. I made a minimal adjustment and colors are practically OOC. The workshop was based on ambient light and composition rules. In this session a gold-colored reflective panel was used to illuminate the girl.
