This thread is still going strong. I used a lot of likes, while catching up.
Joshua, Bob (nice to see old class being put too good use, contrast might be slightly subdued compared to modern glass, but there is something to that old Sonnar's rendition), Rene, Jim, Douglas, Ronny, Helena, Philip, nampramos (impressive night sky shot on the previous page; did you use a track for that?) and everyone I've forgotten, great work on those last few pages.
I went out and about with recently acquired ZE Distagons (35/1.4 and 25/2).Well,they are sharper, contrastier with more vivid colours, wide open or stopped down, compared to C/Y Zeiss lenses and older ones from Z series.1-2f stops is very often enough to get sharp image across most of the FF frame with the the 25/2.New design makes it all.The only trade off is size and weight.

Stunning images, Peire, from both the 25/2 and the 35/1.4. I’ve only recently come to appreciate the virtues of the Classic ZE/ZF line. Your pictures amply illustrate what they make possible when in the hands of an accomplished photographer.
Switched from Nikon to Sony a few months ago...still struggling with editing in C1
Here are a few from Rome with Zeiss Milvus 50/1,4 (mostly wide open )

Thank you genji.I mostly shot the 25/2 Distagon handheld,up to f4 and ISO around 400.I suppose that if I had used a tripod,ISO 100 and f8,it's colours, sharpnes and microcontrast would have been even more pronounced.Same story with the 35/1.4 - used wide open and handheld.

Thank you, Peire, for these beautiful and detailed images of these two Zeiss lenses. I have the ZE 25/2, newly acquired from Danny Burk here on B&S. Gorgeous lens! You have convinced me to put my eye out for a ZE 35/1.4 (I like the exif of the ZE/ZF.2) to go with it. Yes, size and weight are not what most people are interested in today with small Sony gear, but I don't mind at all to produce such rich images!
