I didn't expect you getting rid of it Derek, especially with your moded A7!
I'm having a serious GAS attack and wanting to get either the new VM50/1.2, the VE40/1.2 or rebuy the ZM35/1.4. My only concern is if voigtländer releases the 50 in emount a that Zeiss will indeed release a fixed lens camera that surprases the rx1rii.
I have tried several X-Fujinons acquired earlier last winter.Basically they are similar to their m42 brothers. Some have distinctive features, that make them unique.
A72+EBC X-Fujinon 35/2.8 at f2.8
and f8
A72+EBC X-Fujinon 50/1.6 at f1.6
and f8
A72+EBC X-Fujinon 135/3.5 wide open
A72+EBC X-Fujinon 100/2.8 wide open
and at f8
A72+EBC X-Fujinon 135/2.5 at f8
A72+EBC X-Fujinon 55/1.6 wide open - soap bubble bokeh, but also ability to separate object from the background - probably my most favourite Fujinon.

Wow. Paid for itself already. Of the course the image would have been great without that pop and contrast, but nonetheless...
To be honest, I bought it on Wednesday afternoon after seeing your copy at lunch and it had pretty much paid for itself by the following Sunday. The proportion of accurately focused pictures has soared, compared to what I was getting with the Planar ZA 50/1.4 SSM (whose rendering I adore).
I've been meaning to text you to say that the next five lunches are on me since I'd always dismissed the Planar FE 50/1.4 as being too big and too heavy to even consider. I realise now that what I really wanted/needed (heheh) was a lens that combined the AF speed of the Sonnar FE 55/1.8 with the rendering of the Planar ZA 50/1.4 SSM. The size and weight are a penalty that I'm happy to bear.

Great capture, Jonathon! It is really a superb performer and should use that lens more often; just the weight and bulk of that lens makes me reluctant to use it more... Heck, I should just take it out and use it this coming weekend.

I checked and made sure that I have not posted this particular image from CR and supposedly I haven't. It is that of an insect-eating Jacamar. I remembered that there were tons of mosquitos even during the day and I didn't put my insect repellent on prior to the trek.... Ouch!

More of the sister and I with our thriftshop threads. Unfortunately ran out of battery toward the end but had a grand old time. Told her I just wanted a head and shoulder shot before we left and she did an amazing job!

It'll have to be my turn next, Jonathan, quite apart from it being my turn I'll need to assuage my guilt at such GAS enabling!
I imagine that even though it renders like the A mount Planar, it's a good deal sharper wide open, especially off axis, which makes it much easier to compose at f1.4.
