I woke up early this morning and decided to try my hand at capturing the Perseids. Not having much time, I took my A7r2 and used the time lapse app to capture some star trails over the lake and compiled the series in Star Stax. This was a relatively short series (less than an hour) and I captured two meteor streaks (upper middle and left). Can't wait to try again tonight.

Some more from my trip to Mohonk Mountain House in Upstate New York.
Beautiful. We used to go hike at Mohonk fairly regularly in the 80's, 90's and 00's when I was living upstate (Carmel, NY).
Did you do the rock scramble and climb the crevasse? Probably the most claustrophobic and scary event of my life was climbing up that narrow crack, gently pushing/supporting my then 5 year old son up above of me. It gets narrower and narrower as you go, and I eventually had to wriggle my backpack off to fit through the gap at the top. Still gives me the sweats!!
After a few weeks of extensive heat with temperatures well above 30 deg Celsius, some storms and rains have passed over.Sigh.Picturesque clouds have appeared on the sky and after more than 10 years I have used a polarizer again :-)

Yes the Lemon Squeeze as it is calld by many is a very scary experience! I love hiking the many trails around the property. You'll have to get back there again! The food in the dining room has improved a lot over the past couple of years as well. And they have a world class Spa as well.
