Glad you like it, Jim. It's Shimla in the monsoon just finished. From the 6th floor hotel window, which had been fitted with locking barred slides as an anti-monkey device.
The 85mm Loxia. They are trying to stabilize the scree, but it only works on gentle slopes.
Loxia 85mm. First thoughts: high resolution with non-ostentatious drawing style. For me, consistent, high quality bokeh with a bolder look in portraits, elegant focus fade and strong separation even at f3.2-f3.5. Landscapes tend to be dreamy yet accurate. Tremendous level of detail.
Wow, Ronny. Having been there in March, I know how much this both captures the feeling and experience of the place but also transforms, distills, and condenses it into a unique, powerful visual. Very beautiful.
Both images of Lilly were taken with the GM 85mm f/1.4 lens. The low setting sun was deliberately included in the first image. Yes, the contrast is relatively lower because of the flare but the results, at least to my eye, are pleasing to her complexion. There are palm trees in the direction of the sun, BTW. The second one was shot in a portrait format and the actual sun was put put outside the frame although the surrounding rays were still pronounced. The flare was practically gone from the image and the contrast improved.
