This is an image from my first walk with a new Opteka 15mm. I haven't yet decided about keeping it or not. I believe this was shot at f/8, ISO 100, and about 1/400. I am not sure where I placed focus.
The lights in the sky to the left and right of the sun are not flare--the sun was creating those very strong lights from reflections on clouds. There was significant barrel distortion, especially visible at the horizon line of the land mass. I corrected it manually in DXO OpticsPro 11. Also, I had to go through four copies of the lens to get this one.

While I was shooting Ari right at the beach, a big wave came crashing at and on her. She was still dry until then but completely drenched after that but the show went on....

Joshua, for quite a while now I've been worrying about these girls catching pneumonia...
Werner: Stunning wide open work with the Noctilux.
Samuli: Beautiful shots with the 135 2.8 C/Y. You wouldn't have any thoughts on its longer cousin, the 180 2.8?
Joshua: Again, beautiful models with and without feathers. That Vegas cityscape is another stunner.
Bob: Beautiful sunrise/sunset shots.
Steve, Phillippe: Very nice classic car shots with excellent pop.
Ronny: That one landscape shot with the last rays of the sunset lighting up an other gloomy seascape is yet another testament to your genius, my friend.
Helena: Amazing lightning and a wonderful, dreamy atmosphere.
Dave: Excellent, creative capture of the eclipse.
Rene: Great street photography a few pages back.
What follows are two recent attempts at night photography. As of late, I just can't seem to get any decent shots whatsoever. The weather, lightning and/or location always seems to be less than ideal. It's been quite frustrating. This is a stacked shot taken with my a7rii at ISO 8000 and a Samyang 14 2.4. Can't say that I'm happy. Humidity remains high, and we had a lot of cloudy/rainy days this summer.
This was at ISO 6400, again several stacks, with the Samyang 14 2.4 wide open.

Phillips, in honor of the 70th anniversary here are 5 more Ferrari shots. The first two are with the Leica M 28 lux and the last three are with the 50 cron AA again. The last shot is of the car that was one of the finalist for best in show.
Beautiful shots of the classic cars!
I have been wanting to attend the Concorse at Pebble for awhile now since i live close in the bay area. Alnost went this year.
Last year shot the exotic supercars at the show there in Monterey. Wish i had known you were going to be there this year.
Looks like you had a great day there.

You should plan on going next year. I know I will be there. My father-in-law is a judge at the show and next year will be his 30th year of doing so. It would be fun to meet up. The Concours on Sunday is quite expensive, but many of cars are shown in downtown Carmel on the Thursday before the show. The first couple shots from the last set were from Thursday morning.

You had a great shoot with a great model Joshua. Each one is amazing.
Here's another of Eden.
Brett, thank you very much! Your images of Eden are amazing - well done in more than just capturing!

Yes, atmospheric conditions definitely play a role in astro. Dry climate would be our best bet, indeed. Still your images are fine and maybe some tweaking in PP may help getting the most out of the less than ideal situation.

These are two additional images of the sequential shooting of the owl that caught a June bug on the way back to its burrow to have breakfast that morning. Not every sequential burst with the setup is a success of course and a few times, the camera didn't quite get it in focus but fortunately, it did and it tracked this particular sequence really well where it counted; phew! There is a frame between the two when the owl retracted its wings somewhat and there is a frame after the second one when the owl was about to land.
