Thank you Philippe! I set the alarm for 4:30 AM to get this shot, and it was my biggest technical challenge yet. It consists of 5 different exposures during twilight/sunset, some with a ND filter and SR, and some exposure bracketed.
Dale, Joshua, Werner, and andersd...all wow!!
Returning to more Kauai grabs from last month.
Gregg
A7rll and Contax 35-70/3.4

That Loxia is just a sweet, sweet lens!
Gregg, that 35-70 also has really nice rendering style. Admiring here your 3rd photo (palm trees, boats and mountains in background), so nice rendering style that it's hard to believe. My 35-70 doesn't get as much shooting time as it deserves, it seems that primes always "win" when I pack my backbag for the shoot.
That Loxia 85 looks so good Samuli .. Congrats to a nice lens
Nice Gregg.. Contax 35-70 is a great lens... Regret that I sold it .. see if I might get it back sometime
Nice Dale.. Really love your latest photos from Norway
Great shot Philippe ,Rene , Joshua
Werner : You and you and your varied motives are fanstastic ! You rock my friend

Samuli...this copy of the 35-70 I've had for a couple of years now. It's my 4th copy, and by far the best! I absolutely love it, and won't be parting with it anytime soon. It's sharp at all focal lengths. I just got really lucky. While in Kauai last month, I did an impromptu comparison @35mm between it, my Loxia 35 and the FE 16-35@[email protected]'ll have to post my findings here one day soon.
Thank you.
Gregg
Thanks, Joshua! Much appreciated!
Nice set, Gregg, as ever! I second what Samuli writes. iterestign comment about variaton among Contax 35-70 copies. I had one that I never managed to love, despite evidence from many others to the contrary. Maybe my copy was simply a weak one...
Ronny, superb...
...
Thanks Philipe. US citizenship .... when I recently hit the 50/50 mark (living in the UK then the US) after 29 1/2 years here I decided I'd probably stay. The photo of the US flag was one of the last I took before I heading over to the ceremony with 394 others....

I posted a few images of fighting owls before and this is the continuation of the dispute between the two. After some posturing, the guy on the left was ready to mount another attack and he did that a fraction of a second later. But the guy on the right stood his ground. He stood tall and literally bit his opponent right under his eye. All these actions while the others looked on. It happened in about 2-3 seconds. Why did I know that? I used my A7r II back then and it was set at its maximum burst of 5fps. And I got 13 images in that sequence . The guy on the left gave up and took off, flying away. Too bad it flew in a direction away from me and he was showing me his behind.... So, I didn't bother posting those images.
