Incidentally...more opinions needed. Trying to pair down my line-up for our Kauai trip. I've rented a 16-35/4 for the trip. I wanted AF and excellent quality for landscapes and a decent walk-around lens. So now, do I bring the Loxia 35 AND Contax 35-70? That's 3 35's...Also bringing my FE 50 1.4(I have my buddies 55 1.8 for consideration if only for size), and my Contax 100-300.
Input would be stellar!
Thanks in advance guys!

For me 35 is the perfect walkaround FL (on FF) and as it's the weakest FL of the 16-35 I'd take your Loxia (not like the extra weight is going to be noticed)
TBH when we are on walkaround it's rare that we are looking at achieving top quality shots, something special. They are usually just records aren't they ? Hopefully with a nicer composition or vision than the average person perhaps but still just records nonetheless. If you do have somewhere outstanding to visit (or maybe for low light in the evening or for long exposures) then take your best lenses and leave your utility lenses behind in your hotel room.
As I don't have any standard zooms (previously on Nikon it was the Sigma 24-105.4) for walkabout I still have virtually the same kit of primes as when specialising, they all fit into a small Tamrac Messenger bag that takes both my A7r and A7rii and 3 lenses, filters and extra batteries or one camera and 4 lenses or in a Mindshift Rotation if I'm on a longer dedicated trip.
The Loxia 21mm is known to be a superb landscape lens and Ronny's image above, among many others, proofs it. Just out of curiosity I played with its MFD or close to it. Here are two images from two different locations just for fun.
Lots of really nice grabs the last pages.

Thanks Jim and Chris for the replies on gear for Hawaii. Jim-I only have one body, so I can't double up. Although I am shooting a wedding this summer and borrowing my buddies rll+GM 85 for it! Chris-sound advice. We don't leave until July 4, so I have some more time to decide. I could also borrow my buddies Loxia 21 as well. I decided that I do want AF for walk around grabs. I have my FE 50 ZA for that too.
So line-up stands at this so far: FE 16-35/4, Loxia 35, Contax 35-70 & 100-300, and FE 50 ZA. That pretty much covers it I think. Remember(I keep telling myself this too)...it's a family vaca so serious photo shooting will be sorta limited. I'll be able to get away an evening and morning or two. But, my wife and I are escaping to Maui for 3 nights by ourselves and leaving the kids with Grandpa and Sarah(good friend). So that'll provide a sliver of opportunity for shooting as well!
