Derek, I was curious about your take on ZA 35. Lately you seem to have access to quite few interesting lenses and knowing your 'sebboh style' I was intrigued what your possible move could be, if any, towards 'bigger and better'.
At the end I feel you are true to your style and no major changes to your lens collection [35mm in this case] can be expected. Time wil tell, but I still enjoy your signature soft style with legacy lenses.

Oh yes you are in for a treat. You'll find it similar to the 35 stopped down (which is *amazing* for a 21) and even better at 2.8.
It does have a bit of infinity field curvature, like any 21. When mine is at the hard stop the corners are in focus, but the centre is a touch past infinity but still sharp. Of course your infinity stop may vary slightly. But the focus on the corners or midfield approach is the best for overall infinity sharpness. Of course the central material matters most then focus on that.
Sounds like I'm in for quite a bit of fun testing it out. Currently, it's scheduled to appear here on Tuesday the 25th.
I know I'm late to join the party, and I certainly appreciate all the FM member reviews and images. Special thanks to Fred for spearheading this lens from the beginning. Seems that every FM member I respect uses this lens with outstanding skill and subject selection. Thanks everyone!
Gregg--the ZA FE 35 is bigger than the contax cy 35 1.4 with adapter, bigger than the whole rx1 and probably 2.5 times the size of the ZM 35 1.4. And it's the MF is somehow more frustrating than the RX1 I found. It's lighter in contrast to it seems, like other ZA lenses has been my experience. Of those 4 35's, it's my least favorite. The rendering is very sooth though, and it does have good AF. If you are interested anyway, PM me, if my pitch didn't scare you I'll be selling mine soon.

In my opinion this lens is not usable on standard A7-series camera, the thick filter stack adds too much field curvature and astigmatism. With Kolari v1/v2 thin filter it becomes usable, but even thinner sensor stack would help the edges and corners.
