Just back from trekking in the high Himalayas. This is the view from the top of the Renjo La (pass), one of the 3 highest passes in the world at a mind numbing 5,400m plus (over 17,000 ft), in the Khumbu (Everest) region. Cracking views of Everest at about 90 degrees to this shot
It was around -20C up there and I had on at least 4 layers everywhere to cover every part of my head and body ! Many more shots from this superb trek to come.
Long time no see you guys from the Sony department. Don't shoot; I turned into a Pentaxian!
Here's an older imagee for my book Opale et Albātre, soon to be published.
Just did a crowdfunding to finance the printing cost and just today I reached the target.
Two more days to go if you want to get a copy. ( see other thread; publishing a book )
Joshua, Werner, Frogfish...excellent!
Derek...ZA 35 1.4 or ZM? I'm seriously contemplating the FE 35 1.4....hmmmm
Michiel...so good to see you. If only briefly...

it's the FE ZA (the last set i posted too). it's great for portraits, imo better than the zm (zm is obviously much better for landscape), but i still like the c/y better than either for portraits. the FE ZA is ridiculously oversized though, i'm embarrassed to take it out in public. i've decided to stick with the rx1 and lux pre-asph for a while.
Serendipitous timing -- I just found a nice used Loxia 21 on eBay from Cameras West, in CA. Should be in my hands next week! From all reports, it's the star of the Loxia line. So, if I'm enamored with the 35 (and I am), I should be in for a treat. Good timing, getting the 21 before my next trip up to Washington in a little while. Fingers crossed there are no issues with the copy.

More from Broadway Hill, before the clouds closed in. . .
Folks, I'd love to keep up better with this thread and to contribute more, but I am very busy at the moment. I try to post some images in the next days. Stunning work as always, everybody. Impossible to point someone out.

Loxia 35
Oh yes you are in for a treat. You'll find it similar to the 35 stopped down (which is *amazing* for a 21) and even better at 2.8.
It does have a bit of infinity field curvature, like any 21. When mine is at the hard stop the corners are in focus, but the centre is a touch past infinity but still sharp. Of course your infinity stop may vary slightly. But the focus on the corners or midfield approach is the best for overall infinity sharpness. Of course the central material matters most then focus on that.

Joshua, Werner, your modesty is about to suffer, as you face more congratualtions! Joshua, superlative shot! Werner, the same for your Wall!!!
You guys really inspire me. Incidentally, did anyone notice that when I get congratulated, it is for my equipment?
More shots from my Paris walk... still Otus 55
Thank you very much, Philippe! Equipment? Or did you mean the gear, like in your first image ? Seriously though, your images are unique to you and I enjoy them. I could pick out yours if I scroll a page from the bottom, which I often times do. Sometimes there are not "flashy" but it is tough to be consistently like that. Keep up the good work!

Gregg, thank you! I didn't know that you have the 85mm GM lens. Come to think of it I believe I saw at least one more image taken with that lens you posted here. Excellent images using that lens and nice isolation of the foreground in the second.
